Edge: Ten Zi Concept

Color concept of my main character, Ten Zi Lee, from my story "Edge". Which is being used for our company's first sketch card set.


23 year old, Ten Zi Lee ( Chinese translation of his name basically means Ten= sky/heavens. Zi= Son/offspring) is born under the Chinese Zodiac of the dragon. He is of mixed heritage and has black hair, blue eyes, stands at 6 ft tall He is the current wielder of the Sword of Souls. He can garb into his outfit by entering the soul world. Time flows differently in the soul world, so the 5-10 minutes he takes to change or even council with the souls within is only a fraction of a second in the real world.

Ten is a Kung Fu student, half-assed at that. That is until now, since the Sword of Souls allows him access to its past victims and users abilities. Now, he is a grand master among the most legendary martial artists. He can slash out magical waves of force with his sword as well. When he builds up enough soul energy, he can consume this energy to preform daring feats, depending on the feat the energy consumption varies. His feats examples would be sprinting up sheer walls or moving at super human speed. He can build up this energy either from manifesting and using the sword (which automatically link with his living soul), so that it can grow in energy or actually take soul energy by dispatching living creatures ( dispatching living creatures is the fastest route). Even though he has a huge library of languages and skills for him to access through the souls of the sword, he still has to personally “ master” them to fully be in tune with the abilities.

The Sword of Souls is a magical blade, with ten red spheres/gems on its blade, with the central one at the base being the largest. It's hilt is also decorated with nine strands, each representing one of the nine primal dragons the sword's wielder's have slain in its history. The sword itself had taken on many shapes and forms in its history, taking on different forms for its many users. This is it's current manifestation for Ten.
Ten's other magical items are his sash and sash ring. His sash moves independently, usually to his benefit, and acts as a prehensile tail/body part. His jade sash ring is in the pattern of a looping dragon consuming itself. It moves to consume itself when other magical weapons are near and glows a faint green when demons/spirits/magical beings are in its presence.
