Captain America was one of my favorite pieces from my batch of 50 sketch cards. This here, Darkhawk, was also one of my favorites and it was also the last card I did so I actually took extra time to do Darkhawk because well...it was the end.
I threw in a lot of things in this card, but I particularly like the big green and glowing "KUANG" building. Besides I grew up in the 80's and Darkhawk was a "rookie card" in the Marvel Trading Cards Series 2 back in 1991...good times..good times.
Finally posted this on my Darkhawk Fansite . This is a great piece. I can swear I first spotted it on Ebay ages and ages ago (before I even made the fansite). Did you end up selling it off already through Ebay or are my memories only dreams haha!
The card was inserted into the set, and the one posting it was the one who actually pulled the card from the pack. I only have my ten artist proofs, these regular MM3 cards were all inserted, and no. You weren't dreaming.
haha dang, no kidding! I missed out on the bid in any case (I always try). I hope whomever got it can appreciate the effort you took in including him in your run. I personally thank you for that effort in any case .
Well this was the last card i was inking and coloring so I spent extra time on him since I actually had spare time. Guess I worked enough hours to spare. Either way, Darkhawk was those "hot" rookies from 1990 that I remember going bonkers over when I was 10. Ah...memories, lol. Thanks again for the kind comments.
